She is represented by a team led by Kevin Huvane. Past Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld, who was with Meredith Wechter at ICM Partners, has signed with Rick Kurtzman. At UTA: New Girl star Zooey Deschanel has signed with Martin Lesak. At ICM Partners: Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist (star of the Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) has signed with a team that includes Steve Alexander, Jeff Berry and Nigel Meiojas. Actress Kelly Rohrbach is now represented by T.J. Bernardy. At CAA: Caitlyn Jenner, whose Vanity Fair cover hits stands this month, will be represented by Jeff Frasco. Nic Pizzolatto, the writer behind True Detective, has signed with Jack Whigham. Nia Long, who can be seen in ABCs upcoming Uncle Buck series, is now with Cameron Mitchell. At ICM Partners: Actress Famke Janssen is a recent sign for the agency, where shes represented by Adam Schweitzer, Dar Rollins and Carter Cohn. PR Notes Publicist Kate Rosenbaum has joined Slate PR, coming over from 42 West. Actors Ken Jeong and Jake Lacy are both new signs at 42 West. Notes From the Rep Biz, June 19, 2015 Agency Notes At WME: After a brief (but certainly productive) relationship with CAA, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega has signed with Phillip Sun. He remains with his UK rep, Femi Oguns at Identity Agency Group. Australian actor Lindsay Farris has signed with Chris Fioto. Swedish actor Christopher Wagelin (one of the stars of the Amy Poehler-produced Welcome to Sweden) has signed with Sharon Jackson. Veteran producer Gil Netter is now with Zachary Druker. SNL writer Marika Sawyer has signed with Lisa Harrison. Oscar-winning screenwriters Nat Faxon and Jim Rash have parted ways with the agency. It is unknown at this time where they will end up. At CAA: Beyonc has taken her touring business to CAAs music division, where she will be represented by Rob Light. She remains with ICM Partners for acting work. At UTA: Talent agent Nigel Meiojas has come over from ICM Partners. Robert Duvall, Jonny Weston, Annabelle Wallis, Allen Leech and Jencarlos Canela are among the actors reported to be coming with Meiojas to UTA. TV showrunner Neal Baer, who spent many years on Law and Order: SVU, has signed with Peter Benedek. American Hustle co-writer Eric Warren Singer has signed with David Kramer. At Paradigm: Paradigm has bolstered its feature lit talent in the past couple of weeks, signing writers Karen McCullah (10 Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde) and Peter Steinfeld (21, Be Cool), rising filmmaker Ciro Guerra, and both director Peter Segal and producer Michael Ewing, who have collaborated with one another on a number of projects, the most recent being Grudge Match. Management Notes​ Actress and TV personality Leah Remini has signed with Oren Segal and Carol Bodie at Radius Entertainment. Former CAA theater agent Corinne Hayoun, who represented primarily playwrights, has joined Dan Halsteds company, Manage-ment, which has an emphasis on transitioning playwrights into film and TV careers. Another UK TV treasure, writer Lynda La Plante, who created Prime Suspect, has signed with Abe Cohen Hoffing. Actor/writer/director Dax Shepard is now with a team headed up by Adam Venit. Playwright Sarah Burgess has signed with Scott Chaloff. At CAA: Agent David OConnor, who has been part of CAAs core leadership team for decades, is leaving the rep business to become president-CEO of the multi-faceted MSG group, which controls Madison Square Garden, among other ventures. Most of his former clients, which include Bruce Willis and Jerry Bruckheimer, are expected to remain with CAA. Martin Starr, one of the stars of Silicon Valley, has signed with Steve Smooke. Jaina Lee Ortiz, who can be seen in the upcoming Fox series Rosewood, has signed with Sean Grumman. At UTA: Dope actress Kiersey Clemons has signed at UTA, with a team that includes Billy Lazarus and Louise Ward. TV star Harry Hamlin is now with Mike Jelline. At ICM Partners: Veteran literary agent Helen Brann has formed a succession agreement with ICM Partners, whereby the agency will take over representation of her clients and titles when she retires. She counts legendary Broadway composer/playwright Stephen Sondheim and the estate of novelist Robert B. Parker among her clients. At Innovative Artists: Innovative Artists was in the news an unusual amount over the past week due to actress and director Rose McGowans claim, via Twitter, that she was fired by the agency for speaking out against sexism in the Hollywood casting process. It was then revealed that McGowans point at the agency, Sheila Wenzel, had quietly left the company immediately prior to the dust-up. McGowan has since publicly defended Wenzel, and the two departures do not seem to be directly related. This is almost an in-house move for Andrews, who has been with IMG for some years, although her previous point there, Babette Perry, recently left the company. Filmmakers Josh and Ben Safdie (directors of the acclaimed Heaven Knows What) have signed with Mark Ankner. Actor and author Hill Harper has signed with Nancy Josephson. At CAA: Stand-up comedian Ron White is now represented by Matthew Blake Past Oscar nominee Uma Thurman has signed with Alexandra Trustman. At UTA: Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski (Gone Girl, Entourage) is now a client at UTA. At ICM Partners: Actress Meg Chambers Steedle (Boardwalk Empire, The Mysteries of Laura) is a recent sign for ICM Partners, where her team includes Lorrie Bartlett, Lauren Williams and Sean Leibowitz. While she has principally repped cinematographers, a number of her clients have recently moved into directing, making her an asset on literary side as well. At UTA: Musical legend Mariah Carey has signed with UTA across the board. Her team will include Jim Berkus, Jeremy Zimmer and Jbeau Lewis. She was previously with CAA. At Paradigm: Actress Stephanie Cayo is now represented by a team that includes Gabriel Mena and Brad Schenck. Paradigm recently entered into a strategic partnership with musical booking agency The Windish Agency. Paradigm, which already has one of the most impressive touring rosters in the business, now adds a long list of indie rock and EDM artists that includes alt-J, Phantogram and Major Lazer. Notes From the Rep Biz, August 21, 2015 Agency Notes At WME: Young actor KJ Apa is now represented by Megan Silverman. TV writer/producer Damian Kindler has signed with Cori Wellins. Former football coach, and current TV football analyst, Rick Neuheisel has signed with Jim Ornstein. Broadcasting agent Sharon Chang, who was part of the IMG side of the business, has now moved over to WME. She will be based out of WMEs New York offices. Literary agent Tanya Cohen has joined WME, coming over from Verve. So far, confirmed clients making the trip with her include Aaron and Jordan Kandell, Kristina Lauren Anderson and Jason Hellerman. At UTA: UTA added some serious musical heft with the acquisition of independent touring agency The Agency Group. Per Deadline Hollywoods initial report, the merger comes on the heels of an investment in UTA by Jeffrey Ubben of ValueAct Capital Management, who is joining the agencys board as a non-voting member. The Agency Group has seven offices worldwide, and brings hundreds of new clients into the UTA fold. We will keep you posted as this develops further. Actress Ana Villafae, who plays Gloria Estefan in the Broadway bio musical On Your Feet, has signed with a team that includes Christopher Highland, Nancy Gates and Shani Rosenzweig. Filmmaker Laszlo Nemes, whose film Son of Saul was a winner at this years Cannes Film Festival, is now a client. At CAA: Oscar-winning screenwriter and director William Monahan is now represented by Brian Kend. Instagram comedian, radio host and author Josh Ostrovsky, aka The Fat Jew, has signed with David Freeman. At ICM Partners: After a short run with UTA, John Cusack has signed at ICM Partners with a team that includes John Burnham and Toni Howard. Management Notes​ Actress Mena Suvari is a new sign for Oren Segal at Radius Entertainment. PR Notes OShea Jackson Jr., who played his father, Ice Cube, in the film Straight Outta Compton, is now with Industry PR. Actress Rebecca Rittenhouse (upcoming Blood and Oil) is now with Shelter PR. Digital creators Jake Roper, Caspar Lee, Elise Strachan, and brothers Andrea and David Fung are all new signs for the agency. Two new agents were promoted this past week: Dani Potter and Lindsay Aubin. Potters clients include writers Celine Geiger and Nick Parker, and director Simon Brand. Rising actor Chris Coy (The Walking Dead) is now with Meredith Wechter. Young British actor Damson Idris has signed with George Freeman. Two producers of Quentin Tarantinos The Hateful Eight, Richard Gladstein and Shannon McIntosh, have signed with Mike Simpson (who also reps Tarantino). NBA TV style correspondent Lance Fresh is now with Jason Hodes. Entrepreneur Debbie Sterling, a leader in the movement to draw more young women to science and engineering, has signed with Sarah Self. At UTA: Politically active actor Kal Penn has signed with a team that includes Ali Benmohamed and Shauna Perlman. On the literary side, new UTA signs include dirctor/producer Gary Fleder and Oscar-winning filmmaker and TV producer Callie Khouri. Fargo stand-out Rachel Keller has signed with Meredith Wechter. Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj has signed with Ryan Draizin. Writer, actress and producer Lena Waithe, who is one of the stars of the hit Netflix series Master of None, is now represented by Phillip Sun. Acclaimed producer Andrew MacDonald (Trainspotting, Ex Machina) is now with Robert Newman. Comedy director Marcus Raboy is now with Evan Warner. At UTA: Actress and musician Willow Smith is now at UTA, where her team includes Brian Nossokoff, Max Stubblefield and Izzy Arias, who recently came over from WME. Egyptian comedian and TV personality Bassem Youssef, is now a client at UTA. He has also signed with Anonymous Content, where he will be managed by Nicole Romano. At Gersh: Meg Ryan is now with a team that includes Leslie Siebert and Alex Yarosh. Management Notes In a move that could have significant ramifications, superstar manager Aleen Keshishian has parted ways with Brillstein Entertainment Partners to start a new company, Lighthouse Management and Media. Markees Christmas (Morris From America) is now represented by Eric Pertilla, and Royalty Hightower (The Fits) is represented by Pertilla and a team that includes Rachel Altman and Ellen Gilbert.
