Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom continued to chomp its way to the top of the box office for the second week in a row with $60 million. The film has now made $265 million domestically and a worldwide total of $932.4 million, and will most likely hit $1 billion in no time.
In second place with $46 million was the Disney/Pixar superhero sequel The Incredibles 2. The film is still doing fantastically here with a domestic total of $439.7 million this puts it at the second highest grossing Pixar film of all time right behind Finding Dory and the third highest grossing animated film. Worldwide the film has made $646.8 million.
In third place with $19 million was newcomer Sicario: Day of the Soldado. The film actually out performed industry expectations. This should make CAA happy as they represent just about everybody involved including director Stefano Sollima, writer Taylor Sheridan and
stars Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, and Isabela Moner.
In fourth place with $16 million was the Kyrie Irving starring Pepsi commercial adaptation -- Uncle Drew. The film is doing a little better than expectations, and again considering the movie is based on a Pepsi commercial thats pretty good it must put it in some small category of highest grossing movie based on an ad campaign? Does Space
Jam count? Questions for another time. For right now Paradigm should be happy with this as they represent director Charles Stone III, Verve reps writer Jay Longino, while APA reps star Tiffany
Haddish and UTA reps co-star Lil Rel Howery.
Dropping to fifth place with $8 million is heist sequel Oceans 8. The film has been going strong since it was released and now has a domestic total of $115 million, and has a worldwide total of $209.7 million.
Falling to sixth place was action comedy Tag and dropping to seventh was Deadpool 2. Fox international newcomer Sanju came in eighth place, while Solo: A Star Wars Story fell to ninth place and documentary Wont You Be My Neighbor stayed in tenth place.
Next week: Marvel rolls out its third film of the year with Ant Man and the Wasp will it hit the box office high water marks set by Black Panther and Infinity War? Will it topple Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom? With a canny bit of counter-programming, Lionsgate is releasing the prequel to The Purge franchise The First Purge.
